Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe is a Cabinet Member of National Unity Government, Myanmar and she is a Minister of “Women, Youths and Children Affairs Ministry” in 2021. She was also elected as Karen Ethnic Affairs Minister for Yangon Region in the 2020 election. She served as a Member of Parliament of Myanmar Hluttaw from 2015-2020.
She was used to be an advocate, activist and practitioner for the holistic well-being of women and children in Myanmar.
Naw Susanna organized so many campaigns and events regarding peace building, Violence against women, political prisoners and representing community in meeting with world leaders such as Obama, Hillary and Dalai Lama during her women activist time.
Naw Susanna won the InterAction Humanitarian Award in 2012 at Washington D.C, as the first Myanmar women who got that international prestigious award. She was chosen as women of the year in 2012 and 2013 by the media group of Myanmar and Women in Peace building Award by Women Organization Network of Myanmar in November 2013.
The purpose and the functions of the Support Services Directorate are to provide support to the Women, Youths and Children Affairs Ministry’s Programs implementation and to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of day to day operations of the Ministry.
The purpose and the functions of the Policy, Planning, Legal and Research Development Directorate are to support the development of laws, rules and procedures, policies, planning, to conduct research in support of policies and programs as well as manage data and information of the Ministry.
The purpose and functions of the Women and Gender Affairs Directorate are to set the goal and objectives of the program to promote and protect the rights of Women in Myanmar and to ensure the delivery of the program and overall success of it.
The purpose and functions of the Youth Affairs Directorate are to set the goal and objectives of the program to protect youths and develop the youths sector in Myanmar and to ensure the delivery of the program and overall success of it.
